Colin is a 32-year-old plumber who created a giant Star Wars AT-ACT den in his garden for his friend’s son. It’s basically a real-life replica of the AT-ACT which took 6 weeks to complete and stands at 5.5m high. The new Star Wars film comes out today in the UK and is set to be this year’s biggest movie over Christmas. This is the main reason that Colin decided to create a Star Wars specific real-life model as the movie was set to be released a few weeks later.
The Star Wars AT-ACT den features a ladder that comes down from the life-size model so that you can climb up into it. Inside there is a full sized TV along with a ton of Star Wars memorabilia which are displayed around the den. You would only be able to fit a few people in here as it’s quite compact but a fun environment for young kids. The front of the AT-ACT walker even moves like it would in the movies.
This is the coolest life-sized model that I have seen in a long time. You can certainly see how much time and effort has been put into making it perfect. I’m sure that if it was open to the public there would be a line going down the street just to have a look inside.
This is just one of Colin’s many projects some of his previous ones include a homemade hoverbike, Jet go-kart and creating the longest motorbike. I’m sure that Colin will come up with many more creative projects in 2017 and that his fanbase will continue to grow as each new project is revealed.
Are you planning on going to see the new Star Wars movie? Which stars Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Ben Mendelsohn, Donnie Yen, Mads Mikkelsen, Alan Tudyk, Riz Ahmed, with Jiang Wen and Forest Whitaker.
